An Inconvenient Truth

Blog Project - Task 3 (An Inconvenient Truth)

Sometimes, earth’s climate has warmed so that the oceans have risen and covered much of the Earth. Each of the changes may seem extreme, but they usually occurred slowly over many thousands of years. Now earth’s temperature increases above natural it will cause a lot of problems after many years.

Mr. Al Gore says the main causes of global warming are the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Global warming scientist interpreted that consisting co2 layers which caused by smokes and co2 gases trapped the heat in the earth and that’s help to increase the earth temperature.

According to Mr. Al Gore there are many effects of global warming. The main effect is that it could increase the average world temperature after many years. As a result of that icebergs could melt and raise the sea level so sea waves could cover the coastal cities such as India, Florida and New York. Also he suggests some solutions that will help to reduce the percentage of global warming. For example using a solar energy and hydrostatic energy.

Riches await as Earth's icy north melts, by Doug Mellgren

The summary

This article talks about an international race for oil and other important sources, making a small island like Hans a quarreling island. Hans is located in the frozen north where the temperature is very low and the ice is covering all places, but global warming will melt this ice as the latest report by the U.N said and that maybe is happening faster than what they think; not 100 years as previously thought, but in about 15 years. This makes some countries think about the near future of this area and other countries are already moving and put their flags and warships there.
With all the squabbling over ownership, there are a lot of concerns. One of these concerns is the rights of the Arctic's indigenous peoples who live in this area and as whether they own all the sources. Another concern is about environmental life there.

Main Idea
The main idea is about the race for collecting sources from underground and the relationship of that race to the frozen north.

Comment
From my point of view I think that avidity will lead some countries to a third world war, but fortunately the world is still rich in sources and always we heard about some new wells found in some place, like the huge amounts of oil which were found in Southern Sudan, but again the avidity makes a lot of problems to Sudan particularly from U.S.

Blog Project - Task 2 ( Introduction about global warming)

Earth's climate has been changing constantly over its 5-billion-year history. Sometimes, the climate has warmed so that the oceans have risen and covered much of the Earth. Each of the changes may seem extreme, but they usually occurred slowly over many thousands of years.

Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth's temperature, which in turn causes change in climate; climate change represents a change in these long-term weather patterns. They can become warmer or colder. Annual amounts of rainfall or snowfall can increase or decrease.

Scientists are sure about the greenhouse effect. They know that greenhouse gases make the earth warmer by trapping energy in the atmosphere; their concern is about global warming caused by human activities.

A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife, and humans.
